Privacy Policy
Last updated: 11 August 2026
This page is maintained by Muhammad Alam (Industry 4.0 Developers), the owner and operator of Skyshift, and describes how the Skyshift app (“the app”) handles your information. skyweather.online is the official and only website of Skyshift. It is app-owner authored content, not an independent audit or certification.
Summary
Skyshift has no user accounts and no database of its own. It does not collect, store or transmit personal information to the app owner. Your location is used on your device to request a forecast, and your saved cities and settings stay in your browser’s local storage.
Location information
- Location access is optional. The app first shows an in-app explanation and you can choose “Search manually” instead.
- If you allow it, the app reads your approximate coordinates from your device (foreground use only — never in the background) and sends them to the weather providers listed below to fetch a forecast for that spot.
- Coordinates are not sent to the app owner, are not linked to an identity, and are not used for advertising or profiling.
- You can revoke location permission at any time in your browser or Android settings; the app continues to work with manual city search.
Data stored on your device
The app uses your browser’s local storage to remember your last viewed place, recent and favourite cities, your location-disclosure choice, and a cached copy of the most recent forecast so the app can show something when you are offline. This data never leaves your device and is removed when you clear the app’s site data or uninstall the app.
Third-party services
- Open-Meteo — provides weather, forecast, air-quality and city-search data. Requests include the coordinates or city name being looked up and, as with any internet request, your IP address is visible to that service. See open-meteo.com for their privacy terms.
- BigDataCloud — used only to turn your device coordinates into a nearby place name when you choose “use my location”.
- Hosting — the app’s files are served by its hosting provider, which may process standard technical request data such as IP address and user agent for delivery and security.
The app contains no advertising SDKs, no analytics SDKs and no social tracking pixels.
Cookies and analytics
The app does not set advertising or analytics cookies and does not build behavioural profiles. Only the local storage described above is used.
Children’s privacy
The app is a general-audience weather tool. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.
Data retention and deletion
Because the app owner does not receive or store your data, there is nothing held on our side to delete. To remove everything the app keeps, clear the app’s site/app data or uninstall the app. You may also revoke location permission separately at any time.
Your choices
- Use manual city search instead of location access.
- Revoke location permission in browser or Android settings.
- Clear saved cities and cached forecasts by clearing site data.
Changes to this policy
If the app’s data practices change, this page will be updated and the “Last updated” date above will change. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
